Isola Bianca

Isola Bianca and Peperino are represented by two rabbit assassins that are found in illuminated manuscripts.
These harmless creatures become hunters, warriors and even vindictive torturers holding spears, axes and swords with the dexterity of knights.

ISOLA BIANCA
Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG
A perfect blend of Teruzzi’s vines, with grapes from both the Racciano and Ponte Rondolino locations, where deep soils of Pliocene origin show the presence of clay.
Aged exclusively in stainless steel barrels. Balanced, with elegant tones, this wine has fruited and mineral notes typical of this variety.
The taste is pleasant and complex, with an excellent balance between acidity, structure and persistency, and in which alternating floral and citrus notes highlight the most authentic qualities of the kind.
An almond aftertaste gives this wine a slightly bitter finish. A wine characterized by high drinkability.
Isola Bianca’s labels figures rabbit and dog assassins, a typical example of drolleries, bizarre figures that appeared and decorated the margins and initials of illuminated manuscripts in the Gothic period. Harmless creatures become hunters, warriors and even vindictive torturers holding spears, axes and swords with the dexterity of knights: An upside-down world that was largely popular in the XIII and XIV centuries and that was also a tribute to the amanuenses’ ironic mind.
